Job Description:
We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Finance Business Partnering Manager to lead our Finance Business Partnering team and play a key role in driving financial performance across the Group.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys partnering with operational leaders, influencing business decisions and leading a high-performing team. You’ll be responsible for delivering accurate, insightful financial information while ensuring robust financial controls and supporting the delivery of our strategic business objectives.
Working closely with senior managers across the business, you’ll provide meaningful financial insight that helps shape operational and commercial decisions, while ensuring a collaborative, customer-focused and continuous improvement culture within the finance function.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
You’ll be a confident finance professional with strong leadership skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of three Finance Business Partners, setting objectives and supporting their professional development.
- Oversee the monthly management accounts process, ensuring accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting.
- Partner with operational and functional managers to improve financial understanding and support informed decision-making.
- Produce monthly reporting packs, financial commentary, KPI reporting and variance analysis.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare quarterly forecasts.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial performance, control costs and drive continuous improvement.
- Support capital investment decisions through financial modelling and investment appraisal.
- Monitor project expenditure and undertake post-investment reviews.
- Maintain a strong financial control environment, ensuring balance sheet reconciliations, journal reviews and documented procedures are completed to a high standard.
- Act as the key finance contact during the annual external audit and oversee statutory reporting requirements.
- Lead or contribute to finance systems improvements and business change initiatives.
- Support strategic projects, acquisitions, funding applications and other commercial initiatives.
- Coach and support non-finance managers to build financial understanding across the business..
The Successful applicant will have:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or an equivalent professional qualification).
- Significant experience in finance business partnering, management accounting or financial planning and analysis.
- Proven experience producing management accounts, budgets, forecasts and financial analysis.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insight.
- Experience influencing and challenging senior operational stakeholders.
- Excellent knowledge of financial controls, balance sheet accounting and audit requirements.
- Strong financial modelling, investment appraisal and analytical skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and excellent financial systems knowledge.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-finance audiences.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines.
