Technical Support Specialist

AV Dawson is a company who is dedicated in the promotion of health & wellbeing of its employees, and is dedicated in the development and progression of its employees.  Currently we are looking to enhance the IT department with the addition of an experienced Technical Support Specialist.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To provide an efficient and effective service to the business installing, maintaining and repairing computer hardware, software and networks
  • Respond to internal IT issues and planned work requests, managing and resolving the issues or escalating to the relevant 3rd party suppliers
  • Perform hands-on fixes at desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications
  • Support and monitoring existing IT infrastructure, performing preventative maintenance work, backups and other regular support activities
  • Support and monitor the internal network, links and internet connectivity to all sites, ensuring they are configured and working correctly
  • Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organisation including providing training to users

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills / Knowledge

  • At least 6+ years’ experience within an IT technical support role
  • IT Certification or Diploma in IT
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange user administration
  • Experience with desktop operating systems including Windows, Linux, and Mac OS
  • Experience of Microsoft Office 365 applications
  • A keen focus on customer service and with excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a polite telephone manner
  • Ability to troubleshoot IT issues and knowledge of resolution tools
  • Technically astute, highly organised and able to work as part of a team
